A Storm Is Coming

On Sunday morning, I sat quietly at the edge between the beach and the ocean. The waves were very rough from the tropical depression that was stirring up somewhere south. As I watched the ferociousness of the waves, my thought was "A storm is coming..." The sky was a beautiful blue, but the waves did not match the beautiful day.

Storms come into our lives and can rock our boats. Some storms are mild, like a gentle spring rain, and the boat barely moves. Other storms may seem like Hurricane Katrina, and our boats seem like they will sink. Regardless of our storms, how our boats (our lives) are anchored makes all the difference in the world. With whom is your boat anchored?

The newest challenges with my vision are just the beginning of the storm that is coming. Am I scared? Yes, who wouldn't be. Am I secure in my faith that the Master Sailor, the Chief of Anchors is steering my boat? Without a doubt, my faith is anchored in Him, the Calmer of the Seas (Luke 8: 22-25).

You are not alone in your boat as the storm rages. Call out to Jesus when the ship is rocking and when it is calm. He is there for you in the good days and the bad. Let the Master anchor you during your storms.
